Rutherford's Historic Century In T10 Fails To Get Warriors Home
The UP Nawabs won by nine wickets, eclipsing Sherfane Rutherford's milestone century. Earlier in the day, Rutherford pounded the first-ever century in Abu Dhabi T10, taking Northern Warriors to a competitive 142/4.
In the pursuit of the total, the Nawabs lost Dawid Malan early, but Andre Fletcher and Rahmanullah Gurbaz steadied the ship. Fletcher, ably supported by Gurbaz, played some sublime shots, with Rutherford dropping Fletcher on 10, offering the Nawabs a lifeline. Gurbaz received a couple of reprieves, but the pair never looked back.
The Warriors made a brief revival with Trent Boult and Uzair Khan bowling two strong overs, but Saqib Mahmood's floating powerplay changed the game. Mahmood was hit for 28 runs in one over, and the Nawabs wrapped up the chase in just 9.1 overs, clinching a dominant victory.
