The madness of the IPL is back already. Fans enjoyed the thrilling first day of the IPL 2025 auction. Some of the greatest purchases of the Chennai Super Kings grabbed the attention. From Spin King Ravichandran Ashwin to Rachin Ravindra, they grabbed some best deals.

After spending three seasons with the Rajasthan Royals, Ravichandran Ashwin was up for grabs in the IPL 2025 mega auction. The legendary Indian spinner was in high demand, thanks to his bowling exploits over the years. Chennai Super Kings grabbed the opportunity with both hands, bringing him back to their setup. 

Fleming on Ashwin’s Homecoming:

This purchase of Chennai Super Kings marked Ashwin’s second stint with the franchise. In the auction war, CSK beat RCB, LSG, and RR and named the legendary spinner in the squad. That buy confirmed the return of Ashwin-Jadeja duo’s spin magic at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. After that significant recruitment, CSK head coach Stephen Fleming is all happy and Shared excitement.

''It's a bit of a homecoming for Ashwin, but he's a world-class bowler. It's not so much the price - you look at how someone fits in, and there's an emotional attachment for Ashwin with Chennai, so it's a nice fit. He has still got a very good skillset; his numbers are fantastic. He's obviously towards the latter part of his career, but the experience he brings, he's handy with the bat, and we think we can use him in a number of ways.” said Fleming.

CSK’s Mighty Bowling Setup

After day one of the IPL 2025 auction, CSK made some significant improvements in their bowling department. Along with the Ashwin-Jadeja duo, Noor Ahmad is another impressive buy. The franchise bagged him for INR 10 crores and registered their costliest buy of the season till now.

Noor Ahmad’s ability to secure wickets in the middle overs is set to help the franchise in the upcoming season. A few overs back, CSK found a gem in Matheesha Pathirana who is a threat in the death overs. Having the perfect blend of experience and young guns, CSK are aiming for another memorable outing.
