Former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to his fans and well-wishers following a serious heart attack he suffered earlier this week. The 36-year-old cricketer was leading Mohammedan Sporting Club in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League when he collapsed on March 24, 2025, after experiencing severe chest pain.
Iqbal was quickly rushed to a nearby hospital and later underwent an angioplasty to remove blockages from his heart.

In an emotional social media post on Tuesday, Tamim Iqbal thanked his supporters for their prayers and love, acknowledging the delicate nature of life and the importance of the support he has received.
“It’s the heartbeat that keeps us alive, but we often forget that this beat can stop at any moment, without any warning. I offer my heartfelt gratitude and love to all of you. Please keep me and my family in your prayers. Without your love, I am nothing.” Tamim wrote on social media on Tuesday.
How Is Tamim Iqbal's Condition Now?
Tamim, who remains under observation at a larger medical facility in the capital, revealed that he had undergone surgery, during which a stent was placed in one of his arteries to remove the blockage. Despite the serious nature of the heart attack, doctors have assured that his vital organs are healthy and that he is expected to recover in due time.
It is important to note that Tamim made his international debut for Bangladesh in 2007 against Zimbabwe. His match-winning contributions in all formats of the game have earned him a special place in the hearts of Bangladesh cricket fans.
