In the latest development, Rohit Sharma inaugurated a state-of-the-art cricket academy in Karjat, Maharashtra, on Thursday afternoon. His presence ignited excitement among fans who gathered at the venue in the Jamkhed area. 

The new cricket academy in Karjat is set to provide world-class training facilities for aspiring cricketers from the region. With Rohit Sharma's support, the academy aims to become a breeding ground for future stars, further solidifying Maharashtra's contribution to Indian cricket.

Rohit Sharma Reveals His Emotions After T20 World Cup Victory

The grand opening ceremony saw passionate supporters cheer as the Indian skipper took the stage to deliver a heartfelt speech. In his speech, Rohit Sharma also expressed his emotions about India’s historic triumph in the 2024 T20 World Cup held in Barbados.

"Our big goal was to win the World Cup, after winning the World Cup, my life has come to life," Rohit added. The event host then asked the crowd whether Rohit should lead India in the 2027 ODI World Cup, to which they gave a thunderous response as their approval.

He also reflected on the historic T20 World Cup victory that ended India’s 11-year drought for an ICC trophy. Rohit's leadership played a crucial role in guiding India to their second T20 World Cup title. The victory rejuvenated his career and cemented his legacy as one of India’s most successful captains.

Rohit Sharma's Recent Success As A Captain

Rohit Sharma has recently returned to Mumbai after leading India to a 2-0 Test series whitewash over Bangladesh in Kanpur. His next challenge awaits later this month when India faces New Zealand in a three-match Test series set to take place from October 16 to November 5. 

The Indian team is currently at the top position of the WTC points table. Rohit Sharma and his team are vying for a spot in the 2025 World Test Championship (WTC) final.
