Premier India all-rounder and Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya likes to remain low-key even after achieving celebrity status due to his achievements for the national cricket team.

In fact, Pandya revealed that there was a point in his life when he did not step out for 50 days straight. He doesn’t like extravagant ways of life but is always present for his friends when they need him.

"One thing my fans don't know about me is that I don't go out. I am a homeboy. I have hardly been out in the last three to four years; the only occasions I have stepped out is when it has been unavoidable, something happened with my friends. I like to stay at home. There was this time when I did not step out of the house for 50 days. I did not even see the home lift, I have my home gym and home theatre. The things that I like are in my home," he said on a chat show with the UK 07 rider.

The Team India all-rounder who often shares his workout and net practice sessions on social media, said that he usually avoids media, and the comments made about him hardly faze him.

"Main kabhi media mein comment karta nahi hu, to maine kabhi kia nahi, na mereko fadak padta hai (I don't comment in media, I have never done it, it does not bother me)," Hardik Pandya added.

The Baroda-native also recalled his initial days in cricket, when he used to think that the entire prize money he received as the man-of-the-match would add up to his bank balance. But he later came to know that the prize cheque is divided among the teams.

However, in a major boost for the Mumbai Indians and the Indian cricket team in the 2024 T20 World Cup year, Pandya returned to action in the DY Patil T20 Cup, representing Reliance. He had a decent outing, as he was seen bowling and scalping two wickets.

Pandya was in action for the first time since the 2023 World Cup after an ankle injury ruled him out of the quadrennial showpiece event. In his process of recovery, the 30-year-old missed India’s tour of South Africa and the ongoing five-Test series against England.
