Former Pakistan captain and ex-PCB chairman Ramiz Raja took a cheeky dig at veteran spinner Noman Ali’s fashion choices during the ongoing Test match against South Africa at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

Raja was commentating on day 2 of the Lahore Test between Pakistan and South Africa, where the visitors were batting in response to the 378-run total posted by the host team in the first inning.

Noman Ali gets ridiculed on air

Meanwhile, the 39-year-old left-arm spinner Noman Ali, who impressed with figures of 4/85, was seen sporting a pair of dark, reflective sunglasses while bowling under bright Lahore sunshine.

But what caught the attention of viewers, and Ramiz Raja, was not just Noman’s skill with the ball but also his unique eyewear.

Commentating during the match, Raja couldn’t resist cracking a joke, saying "He’s wearing a fancy pair of glasses. They look like welding glasses!”

The comment instantly went viral among fans on social media. Some fans found it hilarious, while others felt the former PCB chief was being a bit too sarcastic towards a senior player who had just delivered a crucial spell.

Noman Ali rattled South Africa with a 4-wicket-haul

That being said, Noman Ali didn’t seem fazed. He continued to dominate on the turning track, dismissing key South African batters, including Aiden Markram and Wiaan Mulder.

The veteran spinner’s four-wicket-haul helped Pakistan stay in control, restricting South Africa to 216/6 at stumps on day 2.

The Proteas still trail by 162 runs, with Tony de Zorzi being the only specialist batter available at the crease at 81* off 140 balls.
