Champions Trophy 2025 is less than four months away. However, there is no clarity over India's participation in the prestigious fifty-over event. Pakitan is the hosting country. Therefore, the BCCI is unwilling to send India to the neighbouring country because of security issues.
In the past few months, several reports have suggested that the Roger Binny-led board has asked for a hybrid model or the tournament to completely move out of Pakistan. While the two boards are yet to officially communicate on the matter, several cricketing pundits in Pakistan have appealed to India to come to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025.
Wasim Akram Vouches For Best Hospitality In Pakistan
Former Pakistan seamer Wasim Akram is the latest to join the bandwagon and has urged the Indian side to travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy.
"I think whatever I'm reading, there are positive vibes from [the] Indian government and [the] BCCI. I also read somewhere they will play probably all their games in Lahore. They will probably come to Lahore and travel [back] the same night. I'm all for it, as long as India is comfortable," said Akram, speaking to Cricinfo.
"And I can promise you, they [are] going to get looked after amazingly well. I mean, Indian cricketers like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, [Hardik] Pandya, and Suryakumar Yadav, have fans in Pakistan. The young cricket fans adore them," he added.
The last update was that the PCB proposed that BCCI send India to Lahore for all their matches and return to Delhi or Chandigarh the same night. However, the BCCI rejected the proposal. The fans have to wait a bit more to get more clarity on the matter and whether India would travel to Pakistan.
