Pakistan cricketer Agha Salman opened up on his side of the famous story where he sent Indian batting great Virat Kohli a hilarious message on Instagram last year during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.

As the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) stalwart indulged in a viral feud with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Naveen Ul Haq and their former mentor Gautam Gambhir, he got advice from an unexpected source on his Insta handle when Salman told him to calm down funnily via a direct message.

The text was revealed by Salman's Pakistan teammate Imam Ul Haq during a chat show on YouTube, stating the young cricketer told the modern-day stalwart: "Kohli bacche thora easy ho ja (Kohli buddy, calm down a touch)".

Now the young all-rounder revealed his side of the story to the funny incident during a conversation with his Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Islamabad United.

The 30-year-old was asked why he sent Kohli that message after feud with LSG members and spoke about the Indian batter's reaction when teammate Shadab Khan told him about it during the Asia Cup 2023 in Sri Lanka.

"When he fought with Gambhir, it was the kind of incident that began in a very heated manner but gradually picked up a funny tone about it," Salman said. "Those who were watching must have said, 'what the heck is going on?'"

"Then I messaged him jokingly and told Shadab about it. Shadab being Shadab told Kohli about it during their interaction and Kohli couldn't stop laughing. He said, he will go to his DMs and post a screenshot of the message sent to him. It was a hilarious incident."

Salman did end the chat by reinforcing the deep-felt "respect" he carries in his heart for Kohli, who scored a hundred against Pakistan during the Asia Cup in Colombo and helped the Indian team win.
