Shreyas Iyer Opens Up On His Mentality While Batting
He did not get a hundred, but Shreyas did help India tackle some difficult phases of the game, especially in the run-chases. Now, in an exclusive interview with Times of India (TOI), Shreyas Iyer opened up about how things have gone for him in the last year or so, and how he has tackled the setbacks that have come his way and has come out with flying colours in Champions Trophy.
The right-handed batter also mentioned how he prepares for a tough batting position like number 4 in ODIs. He was asked did he prefer to stay silent like other players in the team to which Shreyas sarcastically replied that he doesn't come quietly.
He added that he plays with full heart and he has lot of confidence in his game that he can perform in any situation for his team. He added that this attitude works for him and it has come after lot of failures and he mentioned that tough times are the best teachers where you get to know that it is only you that can help you and on one else.
"I dont come quietly (laughs). I come with my full heart and there is something else going on in my mind. I have a lot of confidence in myself to do the job. Koi bhi situation mai bhejo, karke aauga."
Shreyas Iyer is now set to lead Punjab Kings in IPL 2025 after KKR released him despite winning the 2024 trophy. He would be hoping that he continues the good form of Champions Trophy and take Punjab Kings to the maiden title.
