Mayank Yadav's Tryst With Injury Continues To Hamper His Progress
The 22-year-old pacer first grabbed spotlight in IPL 2024 because of his ability to consistently bowl over 150KPH and made a dream start with two back-to-back player of the match awards. He could play only four games and was ruled out due to side strain and his return was delayed further due to more complications in his recovery process.
The selectors though decided to fast-track him into the national side due to his raw pace and genuine wicket-taking abilities. He made an impression straightaway with four wickets in three T20Is. The injury though hampered his progress again, but LSG backed him by retaining him for 11 Crore.
Now, as the cloud of uncertainty looming large over the exact date of his comeback, LSG management and fans would be hoping that Mayank gets completely fit till the second half of IPL.
In his absence, the new-look LSG under Rishabh Pant would be hoping that the likes of Avesh Khan, Akash Deep and Mohsin Khan step up. The franchise has Zaheer Khan as team director this time around and they will kick of their IPL 2025 campaign with a clash against Delhi Capitals in Visakhapatnam on March 24.
