In the world of heroic comebacks, the Australian writes the best stories, and Australia’s last victory over India Women proved that once again. Chasing a mammoth total of 331 runs, they secured a dominating victory, leaving the world stunned.

Amidst the high-voltage batting show, Alyssa Healy smashed a match-winning ton that propelled Australia to register a thrilling victory. After the emphatic win, the captain opened up about overcoming a dry patch and stunning the cricketing world with her heroics.

From wobbly steps to world-class triumphs

The world is aware of Alyssa Healy’s excellence and witnessed it once again in the last Women’s World Cup clash between India Women and Australia Women. Chasing a massive total, the Australian skipper took charge and guided the side towards their desired glory. But before the World Cup, things were different as Healy was running from a dry patch.

As the Aussie side met the Indian side just before the World Cup, Healy’s struggle raised eyebrows, but the Australian captain proved the hearts wrong. She delivered a sensational knock when it mattered the most. Talking about it after the match, Healy opened up about how she fought through the rough patch to deliver the masterclass

“If you have been watching me in the nets, it has been a frustrating experience because I feel like I've had no rhythm whatsoever, been struggling to find it, and I did not really know where it went before I came into the World Cup. But I think once you step out on the field, your competitive instincts kick in and you kind of just lock into getting in the contest,” she said in post-match presser.

Her secrets to taking on Gaud’s pace

Even though Team India’s bowling attack faltered in the game, pacer Kranti Gaud was a major threat to the Aussie batter. In previous contests, the Indian bowler troubled Alyssa Healy, but she mastered the challenge in the last game. Reflecting on the game, Healy admitted that Kranti remained a tough opponent, yet it was her day to shine.

“Obviously aware that Kranti had got me out a fair bit throughout the ODI series, so an opportunity to go out there and lock in a contest with her and just sort of, I do not know, have a bit of fun in that regard, I think sort of got me going, and that was really a really enjoyable experience. And like I said, it was my day today, and hopefully it continues, but if not, I am sure it will be someone else's, which is cool,” she added.

While facing the Indian side, the Australian side showcased a dominating all-round performance. Chasing the total, Alyssa Healy played an exceptional knock of 142 runs in just 107 balls with 21 boundaries and three maximums. Her extraordinary innings propelled Australia Women to a crucial victory, giving them a major boost on the points table.
