Harleen Deol at number three (38 off 42), captain Harmanpreet Kaur (22 off 17), Jemimah Rodrigues (33 off 21) and blistering wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh (32 off 22) also unleashed cracking cameos as Team India mounted a record total of 330 in 48.5 overs. For Australia Women, Sutherland mopped up the Indian tail to claim impressive figures of 5-40 in an otherwise high-scoring innings. Molineux also picked up three wickets, albeit while conceding 75 runs off her 10 overs.

Australian captain Alyssa Healy led her team from the front in their monumental run-chase, shaping an epic 142 from 107 balls with 21 fours and three huge sixes. Healy also crafted a quick 85-run opening partnership with Phoebe Litchfield before the latter was dismissed by Shree Charani for a near run-a-ball 40. Ellyse Perry also made 47* off 52 balls at number three between her ‘retired hurt’, while all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner scored 45 off 46 balls.

Despite constant breakthroughs from Charani (3-41) and senior spinner Deepti Sharma (2-52), Australia Women romped home to a record three-wicket win in 49 overs to maintain their unbeaten run this 2025 Women’s World Cup.
