Suryakumar Yadav fresh from leading Team India to victory in the Asia Cup 2025, visited the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain on Sunday. Accompanied by his wife, Devisha Shetty, Surya offered prayers and participated in the temple’s sacred evening aarti.

The star cricketer also seeked divine blessings ahead of India’s upcoming T20 series against Australia.

Dressed in traditional attire, Surya and Devisha entered the historic Nandi Hall of the temple. The couple was also joined by hundreds of devotees in chanting prayers during the aarti. Surya also took time to meditate peacefully inside the temple.

According to reports, on behalf of the Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee, Assistant Administrator Himanshu Carpenter welcomed the couple and honoured them with a traditional memento and prasad of Lord Mahakal.

Surya’s visit comes just days after leading India to a historic Asia Cup 2025 win, where the team defeated Pakistan three times, securing the title in style. SKY had earlier also dedicated the first victory against Pakistan to the Indian Army and the victims of the Pahalgam attack.

However, talking about Surya's personal performance, it was not upto the mark. The star batter was not at his best and just made 72 runs in 7 matches at the strike rate of 101.41 and an average of 18.00.

It is important to mention that SKY is currently on a short break before Australia's T20I tour. Surya’s temple visit reflects his deep spiritual side and his desire to start the Australia series with positive energy. The series is scheduled to begin later this month.

The India tour of Australia will start with a 3-match ODI series. After the ODI series, the 'Men in Blue' will face Australia in a five-match series in the shortest format. The first T20I will be played on October 29, 2025, at Manuka Oval.
