Asia Cup 2023 showcased India's readiness for the upcoming World Cup 2023 with Rohit Sharma and Co. winning the six-nation tournament quite comprehensively.
Team India will be up against five-time champions Australia in a short 3-ODI series, which will act as a chance for last-minute fine-tuning.
Former England all-rounder Dominic Cork has called Team India a "complete package" for the global showpiece event, having won the Asia Cup 2023 in an emphatic manner over teams like Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Cork explained what makes India front-runners in World Cup as opposed to other Asian teams. Pakistan suffered a harrowing 228-run defeat against India in Super 4s, while Sri Lanka were handed a 10-wicket drubbing in the final versus eventual winners.
Here's what Cork said
"Who's looking good there? India and Pakistan are just looking like I know him a look. discombobulated? I think that's the word. I'm looking for this. Discombobulated. I think that's the word I was looking for.
I just think the way that you look at Pakistan and think they'd have no chance in the World Cup, You know, you could never write them off. But when you look at India, they just look like a complete package. And you've got people who want on their side. Shreyas Iyer won't be on their side. The likes of Suryakumar Yadav will miss out,"
India begins its World Cup 2023 campaign against Australia on October 8. Meanwhile, before the WC clash, both teams meet in the first ODI tomorrow at Mohali.
