Jurel along with Sarfaraz Khan got their maiden test cap for India on 15th January as India commenced the third test match.

Jurel finally got the opportunity to bat for India on day two of the third test match. Inching towards his first half century for India, Jurel was caught behind after a thick edge by Ben Foakes after scoring 46 runs off 104 deliveries with a strike rate of 44.23. After receiving his debut from the veteran Indian wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik, Dhruv Jurel took to his social media accounts to express his gratitude and his desire to lift the bat for the Indian team. He also thanked Karthik in the post for presenting him the debut cap, since he has observed the budding cricketers journey for years. The caption of Dhruv Jurel’s post read,

"Imagined, manifested and rehearsed this day so many times ever since I first picked up the bat. My dream came true."

With KL Rahul yet to make a comeback in the rest of the two matches, it will be interesting to see how Jurel will manage to maintain his spot in the team. After the commencement of England’s tour of India, Dhruv Jurel will be seen representing Rajasthan Royals in the 17th season of the Indian Premier League 2024.

India and England are currently meeting at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot. India won the toss and chose to bat first and the batting lineup collectively put 445 runs on the board. Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja both scored a century to lead India towards a high total with 131 and 112 runs respectively.
