On Thursday, September 12, the inaugural edition of Pakistan's Champions One-Day Cup kickstarted as Wolves took on the Panthers at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad. Most of Pakistan's senior members are taking part in this tournament that features five teams.

In the latest events, former Pakistan star Basit Ali has accused Shoaib Malik of match-fixing, as the veteran is all set to mentor The Stallions. Meanwhile, Ali objected to Malik's role as a mentor in the ongoing Champions One-Day Cup and stated that he is ready to give evidence of Malik's match-fixing.

Basit Ali, in a video posted on his YouTube channel, has said that Malik should not become the mentor of any side and then levelled match-fixing allegations at him. Sportstak reported this on their website, but no information could be found regarding Ali's claim.

"The one who doesn't think about the country should not be appointed. The one who has admitted that he has deliberately lost a match should not be the mentor. If you want evidence I will give it. Ramiz Raja Saheb interviewed Shoaib Malik. What did he say?" Ali said.

Babar Azam, Haris Rauf To Play Under Malik's Mentorship

In the Champions Cup 2024, Shoaib Malik, who is mentoring the Stallions, will guide the likes of Babar Azam and Haris Rauf, who are a part of the Stallions squad. The senior members will look to return to form, in particular, Babar, who had a dismal home tour against Bangladesh. Meanwhile, a video too circulated online showing him struggling in the practice sessions of the Champions One-Day Cup.

The Stallions will play their first match on September 13 against the Dolphins.
