The unbeaten 72-run partnership for the sixth wicket between Shubman Gill (52 not out) and Dhruv Jurel (39 not out)  played a crucial role in India's victory over England in the fourth Test of the five-match series in Ranchi. Their partnership helped India secure the win after a shaky start.

Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal provided a solid foundation for the chase, but it was Gill-Jurel who ensured India reached the target of 192 runs without further setbacks. Shoaib Bashir's three-wicket haul for England shows the competitiveness of the bowling side, but India's resilience prevailed in the end.

India has asserted their dominance in the series, securing an unassailable 3-1 lead over England. This marks a significant moment, as it's England's first Test series loss in the 'Bazball' era.

Dhruv Jurel speaks after India's win in Ranchi

"I try to play according to the situation. In the last innings, some runs were needed because we had to bat last. I thought I'll try to score some runs as we won't be chasing much. The partnership was needed and I played with tailenders who played really well."

"Credit must go to them for the way they played. Obviously, it was a great experience to face Anderson. I have seen him bowl on TV and the plan was to play according to the merit of the ball. Me and Gill set small targets of 10-10 runs. We decided to put a partnership to keep them away from the win."

The 23-year-old from Arga, Dhruv Jurel, produced an impactful 90 runs against the England spinners in the Test match on Day 3. After reaching his half-century in the match, he also paid tribute to his father, a Kargil war veteran.

Team India, led by captain Rohit Sharma, will next play the fifth match of the series vs England on March 7 in Dharamsala.
