The Indian cricket team faced difficulties coping with the spin bowling of Shoaib Bashir during the second day of the fourth Test match against England in Ranchi. Despite this challenging target of 353 runs, Indian batsmen, except for Yashasvi Jaiswal, struggled to score significant runs.

Sarfaraz Khan had a fortunate escape in the match when he was involved in a close run-out situation. Despite a tight call, he managed to get back in time after executing a full-stretched dive.

The specific incident involved Sarfaraz Khan, the Mumbai batter, attempting a single after tucking a delivery to the leg side. His partner, Yashasvi Jaiswal, denied the run, forcing Sarfaraz to execute a full-stretched dive to avoid being run out.

Sarfaraz Khan had yet another run out scare during the third session of Day 1 Sarfaraz Khan's promising innings came to a heartbreaking end as he was run out on 62 runs.

Sunil Gavaskar was critical of Sarfaraz's diving technique

Sunil Gavaskar was not impressed with the diving technique used by Sarfaraz Khan to save himself from getting out in the ongoing match between India vs England on Day 2 of the second Test at Ranchi.

“It is surprising that he dived with the outside of the bat, the curve makes the bat be on air. You don’t expect that from someone who has played Ranji for Mumbai. You dive with the inside of the bat, you are in. He is very lucky not be run out,” .

Despite the close call and the effort to save his wicket, Sarfaraz Khan couldn't contribute much with the bat, getting dismissed for just 14 runs by spinner Tom Hartley
