In a shocking revelation, popular Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh's father, Yograj Singh revealed that he wanted to take the life of Kapil Dev back in the days of their prime when they used to play cricket together. The shocker continued with several other allegations that Yograj put against the former Indian captain.

The 1983 ODI World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev was a former teammate of Yograj Singh who made his international debut for Team India on December 21, 1980, under the captaincy of Sunil Gavaskar, in an ODI against Australia in Brisbane. Over the course of his brief international career, which lasted less than three months, he played one Test and six ODIs for India.

Yograj Recalls Incident Of His Murderous Encounter With Kapil Dev

On a YouTube show called 'Unfiltered By Samdish', Yograj dropped the bombs that revealed his temperament while he was dealing with severe frustration after getting dropped from the Indian squad by Kapil Dev.

“When Kapil Dev became the captain of India, North Zone, and Haryana, he dropped me without any reason. My wife (Yuvi’s mother) suggested I confront Kapil. I decided I would teach this bloody man a lesson. I took my pistol and went to Kapil’s house in Sector 9. He came out with his mother. I abused him a dozen times and told him, ‘Because of you, I’ve lost a friend. You’ll pay for this.’”

Yograj then stated what made him control the trigger and led to Yuvraj Singh's grand arrival in the glorious world of cricket.

“I said, ‘I want to put a bullet through your head, but I won’t because you have a very pious mother standing here. That was when I made up my mind not to play cricket anymore, but that Yuvi would."

Yograj Reveals Bedi And Kapil Dev's Plot Against Him

Yograj also made harsh comments about the late Bishan Singh Bedi and how he and Kapil Dev allegedly plotted against him to throw him out of the Indian team.

“These people, including Bishan Singh Bedi, schemed against me. I could never forgive Bedi. The man passed away on his bed.”

He also shared a conversation with Ravindra Chadha, who told him that Bedi, as the chief selector, didn’t want to pick him because they thought he was too close to Sunil Gavaskar and was playing cricket in Mumbai. In the same conversation, Yograj further revealed that he had never spoken about Kapil Dev for years.

“When India won the World Cup in 2011, there was only one person crying, and that was Kapil Dev. I sent him a cutting from the paper, saying my son did better than him in the World Cup.”

Meanwhile, Yograj, also made shocking remarks on MS Dhoni on the same show which apparently underlines his change of heart for the cricketer.

Nevertheless, back in his day, this right-arm medium pacer toured Australia and New Zealand during the 1980-81 series. In his single Test match against New Zealand, he snagged one wicket. Overall, he wrapped up the tour with a total of 13 wickets over seven first-class games.
