Australia’s new batting sensation, Jake Fraser-McGurk has made waves in Australian cricketing circles with his outstanding performance in the last 12 months. The 21-year-old scripted his name in the history books after hitting the fastest List-A century in just 29 balls last year.

Opening the batting for South Australia,  Jake Fraser-McGrurk blazed his way to 125 off just 38 deliveries, including 10 fours and 13 sixes in the Marsh One-day Cup. His stellar BBL season with the bat for Melbourne Renegades meant the Australian batter received Australia call-up for the ODI series against West Indies.

He grabbed everyone’s attention with a blistering 18-ball 41 in the third ODI. Lately, a lot of Australian greats have spoken highly of him and David Warner is one among them.  The veteran opener shed light on Frazer's mindset and believes that the Fraser-McGurk has all the necessary skills available to become a great player in ODI cricket.

"He thinks that he can hit every ball for a four or a six. He has a clear mind, he plays with freedom and you need people like that in every team. He is great to have in the team. The more exposure he gets at the highest level, if he gets an opportunity in the ODI team he can certainly be a 10-year player. He will go a long way if he can back himself, he certainly has the skillset for that," Warner said.

Australian legendary skipper, Ricky Ponting compared Jake Fraser-McGurk’s arrival in cricket with David Warner. He also backed him to represent the Australian team in Test cricket.

"When you've got that sort of talent you need to be exposed to cricket at the highest level to work it out. And I think Jake can do that yet. I'm definitely backing one day to play Test cricket." Ponting told reporters in Melbourne.

Australia are, currently, locking horns with West Indies in a three-match T20I series. The Aussies took 1-0 lead after beating the visitors by 11 runs in the first T20I on Friday.
