In a heartfelt acknowledgment on the eve of his 100th Test match, Indian cricket stalwart Ravichandran Ashwin expressed his gratitude towards his teammates, Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Ajinkya Rahane, for their unwavering support and contribution to his success on the cricket field.

Ravichandran Ashwin, one of India's most prolific names in Test format, achieved a mega milestone earlier today.

He featured in the 100th Test match of his illustrious career and was felicitated by the team prior to the fifth Test against England in Dharamsala.

That being said, while the family and inner circle's unconditional support played a huge role in shaping Ashwin's career, the spinner mentioned three special people in his speech to whom he owes his on-field success.

While speaking to 'Cricket Monthly, ' Ashwin said he had the luxury of having Virat Kohli field at short midwicket, Cheteshwar Pujara at leg slip, and Ajinkya Rahane at slip during his playing days.

These three were once India's safest hands in the field, and the trio's impeccable fielding efforts ensured Ashwin reaped the rewards of his hard work. The off-spinner added that if he has to express gratitude to someone other than his family for being a constant pillar of support that would be Kohli, Pujara and Rahane.

Undoubtedly, Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Ajinkya Rahana were once the core structure of India's Test group. The trio, along with Ashwin, achieved enormous success in SENA countries, which eventually set the dawn of a new era for Indian cricket.

Ravichandran Aswin, especially, changed the perception of spin bowlers' effectiveness in Western conditions.

Undoubtedly, as the spin legend embarks on the final stage of his glorious career, his legacy will forever remain immortal in Indian cricketing history.
