In a glowing tribute, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) rolled out the red carpet for Indian stalwart, Ravichandran Ashwin, who is celebrating his monumental achievement of playing 100 Test matches.

This landmark occasion was marked as Ashwin set foot on the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala, becoming the 14th Indian cricketer to join the coveted century club in Test cricket.

Ahead of the high-stakes IND vs ENG 5th Test, the BCCI took to Twitter and unveiled a tribute video that dived deep into the spinner’s life and illustrious career of Ashwin.

The video painted a picture of a man who believes firmly that the key to success lies in happiness, particularly happiness found in the company of loved ones. Known to be his own harshest critic, Ravichandran Ashwin described success as a fleeting journey, highlighting the importance of cherishing every moment.

The champion cricketer even paraphrased a dialogue of the iconic movie 3 Idiots as Ashwin stated 'life is not a race'.

Adding to the warmth of the tribute, cricketing legends Anil Kumble, Sunil Gavaskar, and Ravi Shastri shared their heartfelt commendations, acknowledging Ashwin's significant contributions and his extraordinary journey in Test cricket.

Meanwhile, Ashwin's bowling brilliance has been nothing short of stellar, with him recently eclipsing Anil Kumble as the leading wicket-taker in Tests on Indian soil, with 354 wickets in 59 home matches at an impressive average of 21.33.

The maestro spinner also crossed the 500-wicket threshold in Test cricket, alongside clinching the milestone of 400 Test wickets in Asia. In the current series alone, Ashwin has been a force to reckon with, securing 17 wickets, which includes a five-wicket haul in the Ranchi Test.

With a career laden with countless five-wicket and ten-wicket hauls, alongside vital contributions with the bat, Ashwin's journey in Test cricket has been nothing short of phenomenal. As he steps into his 100th Test match, all eyes are on the legendary spinners, hoping he weaves his magic once again, leading India to victory.
