Stuart Broad’s response to David Warner’s Ashes prediction raised a few eyebrows as former England pacer called this Australian side the worst since 2010. However, England coach Tim Southee refused to agree with Broad.

Southee disagrees with Broad, predicts a cracking Ashes ahead

Tim Southee disagreed with former England fast bowler Stuart Broad’s claim regarding the current Australia team ahead of the Ashes 2025. On the contrary, Southee said there was never a bad Australian cricket team. He further opined that the upcoming Ashes would be “an absolute cracker”.

"I don't think there's ever a bad Australian cricket team. Our focus is firmly on what we're trying to do. I think the quality of (England's) side that's going out to Australia is brilliant.”

Although Tim Southee does not have a bold prediction to make, he is sure to have “an absolute cracker” series ahead. Speaking to Sky Sports, Southee said,

"It should be an absolute cracker, that series. Not only (are) English and Australian people looking forward to it, I think the whole cricket world is."

Southee unsure about Ashes availability after Perth Test

Tim Southee who joined England cricket team as their fast-bowling consultant in summer would be now traveling to New Zealand, his native with England for their white-ball tour. Former New Zealand seamer would be up against his country for the first time this weekend.

"It will be strange but I'm looking forward to it. I've enjoyed playing under Brendon as a player, and to be sharing a dressing room again with him in a different capacity has been really enjoyable. It was too good not to take up."

Southee’s availability in the Ashes is still uncertain. Likely, Southee will be only available for first Ashes Test in Perth. His upcoming assignment with the ILT20 makes his involvement with England for the entire Ashes doubtful. However, Southee informed that they are still “working through that at that moment”.
