India's veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin expressed his admiration for his long-time partner-in-crime Ravindra Jadeja following India's remarkable win in the first Test against Bangladesh. Under Rohit Sharma's astute leadership, India thrashed Bangladesh by 280 runs in the opening Test of the ongoing two-match series. 

Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja once again emerged as the chief architects of India's clinical victory, putting up stellar all-round performances in the match. While Ashwin slammed a century before bagging a historic six-wicket haul, Jadeja played a valuable knock in the first innings apart from scalping five wickets across the game. 

R Ashwin Hails Ravindra Jadeja After India's Commanding Win

In the post-match press conference, Ashwin applauded his spin-twin, highlighting the assurance he brings whenever he steps out to bat. 

"He's been a very inspirational story. Many of these occasions over the last 3-4 years, when he's walked in to bat, I feel so calm and composed in the dressing room. It's such an inspirational story about how he's found his off-stump, how he's contributed," Ashwin stated. 

The talismanic spinner further heaped praise on Ravindra Jadeja for his incredible fielding skills, saying,

"Jadeja on the field is a fire. He's a rocket on the field. So, all in all, I envy him. I'm jealous of him but totally admire him. I've learnt to admire him for the last 4-5 years, even more than I have in the past."

Ashwin and Jadeja have been India's most valuable assets in Test cricket, particularly on home soil. Being two different kinds of spinners, they complement each other and ensure variety in the Indian bowling attack. 

However, besides outfoxing the opposition batters, Jadeja and Ashwin have been absolute match-winners with the bat for India, scripting numerous wins for them with their batting skills. The talismanic all-rounders will once again be in action when India face Bangladesh in the decider at Green Park starting on the 27th of this month.
