Ellyse Perry made 34 off 33 balls, which included four boundaries, on Sunday during Australia women's second T20I of the three-match series against New Zealand in Mackay. However, she found a bizarre way to return to the pavilion, and no wonder the moment went viral on social media in no time.

Perry's wicket came during the 12th over of Australia's innings, when New Zealand's star all-rounder Amelia Kerr was into the attack. Perry tried to sweep her, only to see the ball lob up behind her. However, she had no idea about the ball once it hit her pad and left the crease in her subconscious.

New Zealand keeper Isabella Gaze took full advantage of it. By the time Perry understood the ball was near and she needed to be back in the crease, Gaze broke the stumps to run her out magnificently.

Batting first, Australia were bundled out for 142 in 19.3 overs, with skipper Alyssa Healy top-scoring with a 25-ball 38. For New Zealand, Amelia Kerr was excellent with the ball, picking up four wickets while conceding just 20 runs off her four overs. Other wicket takers were Brooke Halliday, Eden Carson, Fran Jonas, and Lea Tahuhu.

When writing this, New Zealand are 26/0 in 5.3 overs, with Suzie Bates and Georgia Plimmer in the middle. They must shift gears to finish the job, as they are already 0-1 behind in the three-match series.
