Royal Challengers Bengaluru is one of the most high-profile teams in the Indian Premier League and whoever performs for them, becomes an overnight superstar. They have developed plenty of young cricketers over the years, and one of them is Rajat Patidar. The right-handed batter from Madhya Pradesh was one of the shining lights for RCB in the last cycle and has now been retained for 11 Crore ahead of mega auction for IPL 2025.
He has scored 799 runs in 27 matches in his IPL career so far and has an average of 34.74 with a strike-rate of 158.85. He has one century as well as seven fifties to his name and has also played three Tests and one ODI for India. Now, in a latest exclusive interview for RCB, the star player has revealed how the franchise has helped him grow as a cricketer over the years.
Rajat Patidar Opens Up On His Bond With RCB
Rajat Patidar stated that RCB closely followed his domestic performances and he had training camps with them which help him iron out his flaws and boosted his confidence. He also mentioned that the RCB management always guided him and he had clarity of his role whenever he played for them, and it helped him perform consistently.
"The RCB scouting team closely followed my domestic performances for a couple of years before bringing me into the team. The training camps weren’t just about practice—they were crucial in refining my game, boosting my confidence, and helping me realize my potential. The coaches and management were always there to guide and support me, giving me clarity on my role within the team and strengthening my self-belief. All of this played a huge part in what I’ve been able to achieve for both the team and my own game.”
RCB have retained three players ahead of the mega auction which includes Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar and Yash Dayal. They have also roped in Dinesh Karthik as a batting coach and expect them to make some smart choices in the upcoming mega auction.
