'He Tells The Coaches As Well...': Shubman Gill On Rohit Sharma's Captaincy

There was a lot of inconsistency in the Indian team after Virat Kohli decided to step down from captaincy after the T20 World Cup 2021. Rohit Sharma was appointed as the captain after him and was also named as the ODI captain. Virat wanted to continue ODI and Test captaincy but BCCI decided to have same captain for the white ball formats. And then Kohli decided to step down from the Test captaincy as well.

Rohit Sharma has been made the all-format captain. He also captained the team in the T20 World Cup 2022, Asia Cup 2022 and World Test Championship Final 2023. He won the Asia Cup 2023 and now will lead the Indian side in the upcoming World Cup 2023. 

Shubman Gill, who has been enjoying the form of his life, in an interview on the Jio Cinema, said a few things about Rohit Sharma- the Captain.

Here's what Shubman Gill said about Rohit Sharma

"Rohit Sharma gives a lot of freedom to players, he tells the coaches as well to let the players make their own decisions on the field and the player should be the best judge and that is his best quality as a player & captain."

We have seen Rohit Sharma giving freedom to the youngsters in IPL and with that he has got the results. The same thing he has been trying to do as the captain of the Indian team. The Indian team will be facing England in their first warm-up game of the World Cup 2023.
