Former Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik referred to Jasprit Bumrah as Kohinoor diamond and a captain’s dream bowling choice for his ability to deliver consistently in clutch moments.
Jasprit Bumrah, the hero of India’s historic T20 World Cup victory, won the player of the tournament award for fetching 15 wickets in 8 games with an astounding economy of 4.17.
His two death overs on the eve of the finals, in which Bumrah conceded only six runs and dismissed Marco Jansen, rescued India from a humiliating defeat.
DK Compares Bumrah to Kohinoor Diamond
That being said, Jasprit Bumrah’s accuracy and consistency in clutch and pressure moments is being appreciated by fans and analysts alike. Former Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik recalled referring Bumrah as more valuable than a Kohinoor Diamond on air during commentary.
Karthik went on to add that Bumrah is the undisputed greatest all-format fast bowler in the world right now. His ability to deliver again and again in pressure situations is unmatched.
“When I was on air, I said he is more valuable than a Kohinoor diamond. Genuinely, he is the greatest all-format bowler at the moment in world cricket. Under pressure to come and keep performing time and time again, not many can do that,” Karthik told Cricbuzz.
Not only that, the newly appointed RCB mentor stated that Bumrah is any captain’s dream pick bowler. He is someone who can win you games at any moment, and that makes him a special and brilliant cricketer.
“He’s a captain’s dream, someone who wins at any stage, any play of the match — that’s what makes him so special. Brilliant, fantabulous — that’s the word for him,” added Karthik.
Indeed, Jasprit Bumrah is turning out to be a once-in-a-generation kind of fast bowler for Indian cricket. He is playing all formats regularly and rarely gets to witness a bad day at the office.
