In a strategic move to expand its presence in the modern cricketing world, sports apparel giant PUMA has announced a new partnership with IPL emerging stars Riyan Parag and Nitish Reddy.

Sports brand PUMA found its footing in the Indian consumer market after a record ambassador deal with Indian cricket star Virat Kohli. They later onboarded Kohli’s wife and actress Anushka Sharma as well to create a deeper connection with the cricket fans in India.

Now, to venture into the Gen-Z world, PUMA has decided to nurture young talent and has signed new deals with emerging cricketers Riyan Parag and Nitish Reddy.

Both players symbolise the new generation of cricketers who are not only talented but also possess the charisma to engage with a global audience.

Assamese batter Riyan Parag was the leading run getter amongst uncapped players in the recently concluded IPL 2024 season. Initially bought by Rajasthan Royals as a teenager, Parag unleashed his full potential only years later through sheer grind behind the scenes with the best coaching staff.

“I have always admired PUMA’s dedication to sports and their pursuit of excellence. I am looking forward to represent PUMA and hope to motivate young cricketers to follow their passion,” Parag said.

On the other hand, Nitish Kumar Reddy, the emerging player of the IPL 2024 season, turned out to be the find of the season for Sunrisers Hyderabad. He scored 303 runs in 15 games and also picked up 3 wickets with the ball.

“The association with PUMA is a major milestone for me, and I am eager to represent the sports brand both on and off the field. I believe that together, we can achieve amazing things and inspire the next wave of athletes to follow their dreams,” Reddy said.

Notably, both Riyan Parag and Nitish Reddy were rewarded for their IPL heroics as they received their maiden call-ups for the Indian senior cricket team.

Parag and Reddy were a part of the initial 15-man squad released for the Zimbabwe tour. However, due to an unprecedented injury, Reddy was replaced by all-rounder Shivam Dube.
