Sunrisers Hyderabad registered a hard-fought two-run victory over Punjab Kings on Tuesday (April 3) in Match 23 of the IPL 2024 at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur.

Despite the fact that the equation read 29 off six balls for a memorable win after SRH's 182/9, Ashutosh Sharma and Shashank Singh did not lose hope, smashing Jaydev Unadkat left, right and centre, coupled with three dropped catches, to keep the fans on the edge of the seat.

Speaking at the post-match presentation, SRH skipper Pat Cummins highlighted the total they put on the board on a tough Mullanpur track.

"I thought 180 was really good. With 150, you are going to lose most of the times but really happy with 180. We knew the new ball was going to be key and 180 was a good total," Cummins told the host broadcasters.

Further on, Cummins lauded Nitish Reddy, who put on a stellar show in Mullanpur by smashing 64 runs off just 37 balls. Nitish smashed as many as four fours and five sixes in an entertaining knock, which allowed Hyderabad to cross 180-run mark despite losing wickets in regular intervals.

"Nitish was awesome. Debuted last week. Came top of the order tonight and took us to 180. Bowled well and was good in the field and he was brilliant," Cummins added.

SRH have now got three wins in five matches, taking them fifth on the points table. They will go up against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) next on April 15 in Match 30 of the IPL 2024.
