Today's hero for Australia was speedster Pat Cummins as he delivered a remarkable performance against Bangladesh during Match 44 of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.

Pat Cummins picked up the wickets of Mahmudullah and Mahedi Hasan in the 18th over, before completing his hat-trick in the first ball of the final over.

His hat-trick helped Australia restrict Bangladesh to sub-par total of 140 runs. And chasing the target, David Warner's 53* off 35 balls helped Australia to secure a win in the rain-affected match.

Pat Cummins comments on his hat-trick vs BAN

Pat Cummins finished with figures of 3 for 29 from his 4 overs and was awarded the Man of the Match. He said that he forgot about the hat-trick, but Marcus Stoinis came in and reminded him of that.

He also added that getting the set batter out worked in their favour. He also noted that it feels good to be a part of the Hat-trick club he is really happy to start the Super 8s with a win.

"I had no idea about the hat-trick. It came on the screen and Stoinis came running towards me. That's when I realised. Set batter in. Laid the innings. But we managed to pick up wickets at regular intervals and restricted them. I think fairly polished. Our goal is to get the win and we did it really well. The run rate is also a factor but we are happy that we have started the Super 8s with a win." Pat Cummins Said.

Cummins, who came back into the lineup after a rest, was in fine form as he became the second Aussie bowler to pick up a hat-trick in T20 World Cups after the legendary Brett Lee.

The win helped Australia go top of Group 1 over India on net run-rate and they will face Afghanistan next on June 22.
