Rahul Dravid had a successful tenure as India’s head coach and took the team to multiple ICC finals. Despite tough losses in the ICC World Test Championship 2023 and ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

However, it is important to mention that after several failures Dravid's persistence paid off when India finally lifted the Men's T20 World Cup 2024, and it also ended India's long ICC trophy drought. His contract with the BCCI ended after the T20 World Cup, and he left the team on a high note.

Gautam Gambhir was appointed as India's head coach after a successful stint as a mentor with IPL teams Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The BCCI showed faith in Gambhir and handed him a contract until 2027.

Rishabh Pant Shares Insights On Gambhir and Dravid's Coaching Style

Recently speaking to JioCinema ahead of the Duleep Trophy 2024, where he represents India B, Rishabh Pant openly said that both Rahul Dravid and Gautam Gambhir are very different.

Pant added that the newly-appointed India head coach is very 'one-sided' about winning, but he stressed the importance of maintaining a balanced approach.

He mentioned that while Dravid maintained a calm and balanced approach, both personally and professionally, Gautam Gambhir brought a different energy and dynamic to the role.

“I feel Rahul bhai was very balanced as a human being and as a coach. It could be both good and bad. There are positives and negatives, and it depends on where individuals want to focus. Gauti bhai (Gambhir) is more aggressive, he's very one-sided about the fact that you have to win. But you need to find the right balance and improve,” Pant told JioCinema.

Pant's Outlook On Upcoming Cricket Challenges

In the same interview, he also stated that the 'Men In Blue' will not underestimate any opponent and will focus on enhancing their strengths in the coming months.

He also added that the Indian team's priority is maintaining their high standards and continuously improving their performance rather than focusing on other teams' performance.

"Asian countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka perform well in Asian conditions because they are accustomed to the wickets. As the Indian cricket team, we focus solely on our own standards and how we can improve. Regardless of the opposition, we strive to play with the same intensity and give our 100 percent every single day,” he said.

Rishabh Pant is expected to rejoin the Test squad for the upcoming series against Bangladesh.
