In a thrilling encounter, the Antigua & Barbuda Falcons secured their first win of the season, as they defeated the Trinbago Knight Riders by 6 runs. After losing the toss and being put into bat, the Falcons started brilliantly, the openers Fakhar Zaman and Justin Greaves added 65 runs in the powerplay. 

Although, after the dismissal of the openers, Imad Wasim then played a crucial knock of 46 off 29 balls, while Fabian Allen provided the finishing touch with an unbeaten 25 off just 11 balls. Their contributions helped the Falcons post their highest total of the season 176/6.

Trinbago Knight Riders Well-Constructed Chase 

The Trinbago Knight Riders, in reply, had an early setback when Sunil Narine was dismissed for a duck in the second over. Andries Gous and Shaqreke Parris steadied the innings with a partnership of 62 runs. 

 However, key wickets fell at crucial moments, which included the wicket of Nicholas Pooran, who was dismissed for a golden duck. 

Despite a valiant effort by Kieron Pollard, who smashed a few massive sixes, and Keacy Carty, who added 63 off 29 balls for the fifth wicket, the Knight Riders fell short. 

Andre Russell's Explosive Shot

Andre Russell's brief stay at the crease may have lasted only five balls, but he made an impact with a monstrous 97-meter six in the 18th over. 

Facing Roshon Primus, Russell took full advantage of a ball that was right in the slot. Clearing his front leg, he bent low and unleashed a powerful swing, and the ball soared over widish long-on for a massive maximum. 

The match came down to the final over, with the Falcons forced to bowl it with only 10 fielders due to a red card penalty. However, Roshon Primus held his nerve and defended 12 runs to secure a much-needed win for the Falcons after four consecutive defeats.
