The Antigua and Barbuda Falcons are playing against Trinbago Knight Riders at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua in the ongoing eighth match of the CPL 2024. Kieron Pollard, the skipper of the  Knight Riders, won the toss and opted to field first.

Imad Wasim Solid Cameo Turn Things For ABF

Earlier in the match, Antigua and Barbuda Falcons began their innings well with Fakhar Zaman and Justin Greaves providing a solid platform during the powerplay.

However, after their departure, the Falcons' innings lost momentum as wickets fell at regular intervals. But Pakistani all-rounder Imad Wasim played a crucial knock and scored a game-changing 46 off 29 balls.

His late-innings effort, combined with Fabian Allen's explosive cameo, helped the Falcons reach a respectable total of 176/6 in their 20 overs.

Trinbago Knight Riders Rocky Start

In response, the Trinbago Knight Riders had a rocky start, losing Sunil Narine for a duck in the second over. However, Andries Gous and Shaqkere Parris formed a steady partnership.

Just when it seemed the Knight Riders were building momentum, Finn Allen made an impact for the Falcons and dismissed both Gous and Parris in quick succession.

Things took a turn for the worse for the Knight Riders when they lost the in-form Nicholas Pooran for a Golden Duck.

Kieron Pollard's Massive Six

Kieron Pollard, known for his power-hitting, displayed his trademark strength in the 13th over, as he smashed a massive 91-metre six off Roshon Primus. The ball was full-on off-stump, perfectly in the slot for Pollard, who executed a lofted extra cover drive with excellent bat flow.

Despite Pollard’s efforts, the pressure mounted on the Knight Riders as they continued their chase. The TKR found themselves in a difficult position as a lower-middle order collapsed like a pack of cards. At the time of writing, Knight Riders have lost 7 wickets at 159 runs.
