It was Adam Zampa's day in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 in match 24th between Australia and Namibia at the Sri Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua on June 12, 2024.

The 32-year-old cricketer became the first Australian cricketer to scalp 100 international wickets in T20I as he took the wicket of Bernard Scholtz. The Australian leg-spinner was the main reason behind the Aussies comprehensive win against Namibia.

Adam Zampa was particularly brilliant on the day as he picked up four wickets from his four overs and conceded only 12 runs.

For his stellar performance, Adam Zampa was awarded as the man of the match and after this, he stated that it is a great feeling to qualify for the Super 8. He also stated that he capitalized on the conditions and that it was important for him to pick crucial wickets in the middle overs.

"It sounds fine. First things first, nice to get the win. Qualify for the Super 8 and it is a nice feeling. I have bowled a couple of pies. It has been coming in well but really happy to pick wickets in the middle overs and try to do my thing for the captain. We had the wind in the Barbados as well. It is a challenge. You need to adapt to it quickly. We are happy to qualify for the Super 8s. It’s a first step in taking the trophy home. But it’s still a long way to go." Adam Zampa said.

Earlier in the match Australia won the toss and opted to bowl first and this decision turned fruitful for the team as the bowlers showcased some magnificent performances with Adam Zampa being at his top-notch form with 4/12 from four overs he bowled in Australia’s emphatic victory over

Australia’s chase was swift and aggressive. David Warner’s quick-fire 20 off eight balls set the tone, and Travis Head’s 34 off 17 balls ensured a comfortable win within six overs, which dashed Namibia’s hopes of advancing further in the tournament.
