West Indies won their first match against Papua New Guinea by five wickets. They followed this up with a crushing win against Uganda by 134 runs. These two wins have significantly boosted West Indies's campaign.

The tournament co-hosts are currently in their group's second spot, with a net run rate of +3.574. They need to win one more match, which will keep them on a sound stage to qualify for the Super Eights of the tournament. 

New Zealand

New Zealand had a nightmarish start to their campaign. In their first match against Afghanistan, New Zealand conceded 159 runs in 20 overs. In reply, they were bundled out for 75 and lost the game by a significant margin of 84 runs. The huge margin of the defeat meant that they now have a net run rate of -4.200 and are currently lingering at the bottom of Group C. 

To keep their hopes alive in the tournament, Kane Williamson and his boys now need to win all three matches by a significant margin.
