West Indies will be up against New Zealand in the 26th match of the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup, 2024, at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy, Tarouba, on June 13 at 06:00 AM IST. The stadium will host its first match of the marquee tournament.

The teams have faced a low and slow pitch at Providence, Guyana, both teams will welcome the more favourable conditions at the Brian Lara Stadium as they square off against each other in a highly-anticipated clash on Wednesday.

NZ's Probable XI For T20 World Cup Match vs WI

The NZ team is likely expected to open with the same duo of destructive batters Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra.

Skipper Kane Williamson will bat at his preferred number three position for the Black Caps, while Daryl Mitchell and Glenn Phillips will follow him in the middle order.

The top-order batters will likely need to spend some ample time on the field to develop their innings as the pitch is expected to favour the batters with time as the match progresses. Although both players at the top-order excel against spin, they will face a formidable challenge in left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein.

Hosein, who achieved a career-best 5-11 against Uganda, will be a key threat with his ability to turn the ball away from Williamson.

With the presence of Daryl Mitchell and Glenn Phillips, New Zealand can expect to strengthen its lower-middle order.

NZ has a strong bowling line-up and will highly depend on them to deliver with Mitchell Santner taking charge of the spin department followed by Matt Henry, Lockie Ferguson, and Trent Boult to strengthen the pace attack.

In the last match against Afghanistan, New Zealand faced defeat and the blame can be put on the batters directly so to strengthen their batting line-up, Kane Williamson can likely bring in Rachin Ravindra.
