Excitement is brewing among cricket fans as the countdown to IPL 2024 draws nearer. KKR (Kolkata Knight Riders) recently ignited fervor among fans by sharing a snippet on their Instagram broadcast channel, revealing the arrival of their new mentor, Gautam Gambhir.

The former skipper, a seasoned T20, and ODI World Cup champion, boasts an illustrious history with KKR, having led the team to victory in 2012 and 2014 during his tenure from 2011 to 2017.

Gambhir's return to the KKR fold brings a wealth of experience, adding a new dimension to the team's preparations for the upcoming IPL season, scheduled to kick off on March 22. Gambhir joins KKR as a mentor, ending his previous stint with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

Heading the Knight Riders' support staff is head coach Chandrakant Pandit, accompanied by assistant coaches Abhishek Nayar and James Foster, bowling coach Bharat Arun, and fielding coach Ryan ten Doeschate. With Gambhir's expertise complementing this formidable lineup, KKR aims to reclaim its former glory in the IPL.

Despite Gambhir's departure in 2016, KKR's journey to the IPL final has been marked by a solitary appearance, culminating in defeat to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in 2021. 

However, with Gambhir's return and a renewed sense of determination, the franchise is optimistic about turning the tide and charting a path to victory once again.

At 38 years old, Gambhir brings not only wisdom but also a hunger for success, igniting hopes for KKR fans as they eagerly wait to see their team in action. KKR is set to play their opening match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on March 23 at Eden Gardens.
