Mumbai Indians crushed LSG by 54 runs at the Wankhede Stadium in match number 45 of the IPL 2025 season. The outcome marked Mumbai Indians’ fifth in succession, as they catapulted themselves to third position on the 10-team points table.

Indian spinner Piyush Chawla believes that Mumbai Indians’ current form should put every other competing team at discomfort, and also stated that Hardik Pandya’s rampaging group has match-winners right from the beginning till number 11.

While speaking on JioHotstar, Indian spinner and expert commentator Piyush Chawla praised Mumbai Indians after they outclassed LSG at the Wankhede Stadium. Praising Ryan Rickelton for his match-winning half-century, Chawla also hailed Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling performance as an ‘Impact Substitute’, and commended Will Jacks for his crucial breakthroughs. He said:

“If you see the number of match winners Mumbai Indians have in their squad, you start right from the beginning till number 11. Ryan Rickelton – the knock that he played today – we know Rohit Sharma, what he has done in the last two games. Today, Bumrah with the ball, Will Jacks came in, and he provided those two crucial wickets.”

Piyush Chawla also believes that under the leadership of Hardik Pandya, Mumbai Indians seem to be clicking at the right time, and added that all other teams should be “scared” of the five-time winners considering the number of match-winners they have.

“So, I think things are falling in place; whatever Hardik is doing, it’s happening for the team, and that’s what this team is all about. You have so many match winners in that playing XI. Jasprit Bumrah came in as an impact player and what impact he has left on the game! So that’s why this team is on a roll, and when Mumbai Indians are on a roll, every other team should be scared of them.”

Mumbai Indians is currently placed third on the IPL 2025 points table with six wins and four defeats from 10 teams. They will now face the Rajasthan Royals franchise at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

The match will be played on Thursday, May 1 and the action will commence from 7:30 PM IST onwards.
