The IPL 2024 Auction is set to unleash in Dubai on 19th of December and the whole cricketing would be awaiting to see how the 10 franchises shape up after the all-important auction. One of the most popular teams in the IPL, Royal Challengers Bangalore have a though task in front of them as they need to buy plenty of bowlers after releasing them in bulk before the Auction.

Aakash Chopra, the former Indian batter and star commentator has also emphasised the fact that RCB need to be smart and alert in picking their bowling options ahead of IPL 2024 season.

He added that RCB need both pacers and spinners but feels that they will miss out on a talent like Wanindu Hasaranga because they might end up spending a lot on buying pacers. He stated that in a mock auction on Jio Cinema, the fast bowlers went till 16-17 crores, and if it goes till there, then Wanindu Hasaranga will be impossible to buy.

"We did a mock auction on Jio, and it seemed like the fast bowlers could even go for 16-17 crores. If it goes till there, you won't have much money left. Then the Wanindu Hasaranga dream will remain a dream as you won't even have five to six crores to spend."

He added that RCB have 23.25 crore in their kitty and if they spend 17 crores on one player, they won't be able to make a team as they have let many players go.

"Then suddenly your hands will be tied. Out of the 23.25 crores you have, if you give 17 crores to one player, you won't be able to make a team because you let a lot of players go."

So, RCB will have to be pretty careful in their choices, and it remains to be seen how they shape up their team with limited bucks in their kitty and plenty of options to ponder on.
