Rohit Sharma has been the talk of the town since he has been removed as Mumbai Indians captain ahead of the IPL auction for the 2024 season. He has been replaced by Hardik Pandya as MI skipper but according to the reports from Sports Today, Delhi Capitals (DC) earlier approached Mumbai Indians for Rohit's trade but MI rejected the offer.

According to Sports Today, DC wanted Rohit Sharma to lead in IPL 2024 but MI were in no mood to leave their legendary skipper, the man who has won them five IPL titles. DC now have announced Rishabh Pant as their skipper for the 2024 season who will be making his much-awaited comeback after a brutal car accident.

David Warner led DC in the 2023 IPL and DC had a lacklustre season which might have forced Capitals management to look at a leader like Rohit Sharma who has the experience and ability to win tournaments like IPL.

So, with the deal not finalised between DC and MI, Rohit Sharma for the first time since 2013, will play only as a player in IPL under the leadership of Hardik Pandya for Mumbai Indians. Rohit started his IPL career for Deccan Chargers but it is his legacy as Mumbai Indians skipper that will be remembered by generations to come.
