It has been more than two weeks since India beat Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 final to lift their ninth continental cup title. However, India were literally denied the opportunity to celebrate with the trophy as ACC chief Mohsin Naqvi refused to hand over the trophy to India through someone other than him and fled from the scene along with the trophy.

The act didn't let the Indians down, and the Suryakumar Yadav-led side celebrated the victory without the trophy. Nonetheless, it didn't stop people from talking about the incident and slamming the ACC and PCB chief for his bizarre act.

Several Indian stars, including Suryakumar Yadav, has spoken on this matter, and the latest to join the bandwagon is India spinner Varun Chakaravarthy.

Varun Chakaravarthy slams Mohsin Naqvi for running away with trophy

The right-arm spinner appeared on the third episode of Breakfast with Champions, where he slammed Naqvi for his act. Varun revealed that Mohsin can only snatch the trophy, but not the fact that India are the No.1 team in the world.

"I knew that we would win all the games. We are the number one team in the world. (Cup cheen sakte hai) The Cup can be taken away, but we are champions," he said speaking on breakfast with champions as quoted by Times of India.

Varun Chakaravarthy spills beans on his plans with Asia Cup trophy

In the same show, Varun also spilled the beans on his plan with the trophy and stated that he had planned the viral 'wake up with trophy' picture, but due to Naqvi's act of stealing the trophy, he couldn't fulfil his wishlist.

"So, I had planned everything. I was going to take a photo like I am sleeping with a cup and all those things. But after the match, there was nothing next to me. Just a coffee cup. So, I went ahead with it," he said speaking on breakfast with champions.

Notably, shortly after the win, Varun Chakaravarthy took to Twitter where he instantly took a dig at the PCB chief and remarked, "Akkha duniya ek taraf, aur mere India ek taraf. Jai Hind!". At present, the trophy is still in ACC headquaters.
