On Wednesday, October 15, Pakistan started their new WTC cycle on a positive note, handing South Africa a 93-run defeat to lead the two-match Test series 1-0. It was a spin-fest, where Noman Ali bagged the player of the match award for his ten-wicket haul.
The first Test was shy of any controversies, barring former PCB chairman and match presenter, Ramiz Raja, who hogged the headlines twice for his on-air remarks. Notably, Ramiz was caught insulting Babar Azam and Noman Ali on-air, which created a stir on social media.

However, in the latest events, Ramiz Raja has once again stolen the limelight for the wrong reasons and has taken it a step further by dragging the India and Asia Cup handshake saga into the first Test between Pakistan and South Africa.
Notably, after Pakistan's win, the players engaged in post-match rituals and shook hands. During this instance, Ramiz Raja was on-air alongside former Pakistan star Aamer Sohail. The two former Pakistan players took the opportunity to take shots at India over their refusal to shake hands with the Salman Agha-led side during the Asia Cup 2025, which led to several controversies.
Notably, Aamer started the insult by remarking, "Good to see both teams shaking hands. It's getting out of fashion these days."
Ramiz too joined him quickly and stated, "It's getting out of hand. It's a great tradition. And well, cricket is about tradition, being gentlemanly, about being fair. It's important for South Africa to be sane."
The remarks quickly went viral, and the fans instead slammed the Pakistani duo for trying to gain viewership by taking India's name.
