In the early hours of Thursday, October 16, Team India landed in Perth after multiple flight delays. After a short rest, the Men in Blue hit the nets for the upcoming ODI series against Australia starting on October 19.
It was a dream-come-true moment for India fans as Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma returned to the nets for the first time since their India return to India. Notably, the last time Virat and Rohit were seen in India colours was on March 9, the Champions Trophy final in the UAE.
In the latest events, Revsportz released a video where Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were seen practising in the nets side by side. The fans quickly jumped in to see how the veterans did in their first net sessions, as they haven't played any competitive matches since IPL 2025.
Virat Kohli careful of his fifth-stump woes
The last time Virat had travelled to Australia was the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which was not the ideal tour for the former India captain as he scored 190 runs in nine innings, averaging 23.75.
Interestingly, Virat was criticised for his off-stump woes, where he got out in all nine innings. Thus, in the latest practice session, Virat was seen taking note of his weakness and working on it.
Out of the 12 deliveries he faced, Virat was beaten on the very first ball, but bounced back and showed patience by leaving 3-4 deliveries that were pitched around the fifth stump line.
Virat turns back the clock with quintessential timing
Besides the three to four concerning deliveries, Virat looked in great touch in the net session as it seemed that he middled the ball well and, in fact, timed a couple of them for beautiful cover-drives that left the fans in awe.
There are doubts over Virat's form as the 36-year-old has not played cricket in a long time, but those shots came as a sigh of relief for the fans who were worried for the former India captain.
