With the schedule for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup (CWC) 2023 out in public, all eyes are already glued on the marquee clash between India and Pakistan, which as expected will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 15.

The Cricket World Cup 2023 gets underway on October 5 and finished on November 19, with India taking on Australia on October 8 and Pakistan facing Qualifier 1 on October 9, in their respective tournament openers.

Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh, who has been part of several India-Pakistan high-profile clashes, stated that matches between these two nations is a spectacle like no other.

As quoted by Cricket Pakistan, Harbhajan explained that as hosts India will be under more pressure as compared to Pakistan, given the expectations of home fans.

Pakistan will not be under as much pressure as India: Harbhajan Singh

"It will be a very high-pressure game. Pakistan will not be under as much pressure as India because India will be playing in India. So to handle and absorb that pressure and to win from there and bring a smile to everyone's faces will be a huge thing."

"The pressure of that match, the expectations in that game from your relatives to the entire India and wherever Indians are sitting, you just have to do one thing for them, and that is to win the match."

Interestingly, Pakistan are yet to beat India in a 50-overs format, having lost all seven encounters, since 1992. The last time these two cricketing-rich nations played each other in CWC was in the 2019 edition in England, where India prevailed quite handsomely by 89 runs (DLS method).

Nevertheless, before the much-awaited World Cup clash, India and Pakistan can meet as many as three times in the forthcoming Asia Cup, which is to be hosted in Pakistan and Sri Lanka in August-September.
