After a long wait, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has finally unveiled the schedule for the upcoming Cricket World Cup 2023, set to be hosted by India between October 5 and November 19.

The 48-match tournament will see as many as ten nations participating in the marquee event, which will be played across 12 Indian cities. Each team will play nine round-robin matches, with the top four qualifying for the knockout stage.

The warm-up matches for the CWC 2023 will be played between September 29 and October 3.

Pakistan's World Cup Schedule

Former World Cup champions Pakistan will be in action from October 9 and will play their tournament opener against Qualifier 1 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. They will play against Qualifier 2 on October 12, also at Hyderabad.

Pakistan's first major hurdle will be against hosts India, where they clash on October 15 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Pakistan plays five-time champions Australia on October 20 at Chinnaswammy Stadium in Bengaluru and faces neighbours Afghanistan on October 23 at Chepauk in Chennai.

Interestingly, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had requested ICC and BCCI to swap these two matches, a demand that was rejected by both.

Pakistan stays in Chennai and takes on South Africa on October 27 before travelling to Kolkata to meet Bangladesh on October 31.

The Asian giants return to Bengaluru and lock horns against New Zealand on November 4.

In a repeat of an ICC T20 World Cup 2022 Final, Pakistan squares off against defending CWC champions England at Eden Gardens for their final league match.

Pakistan plays two matches each at Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Kolkata, respectively, while playing just one at Ahmedabad.
