In a significant development, the BCCI has finally come up with the schedule of the ICC World Cup, set to take place in India from October 5 to November 19. The tournament will involve ten top-class teams, who will battle it out in 48 matches, including three knockout fixtures, across ten different venues in the country. 

Talking about India, the Rohit Sharma-led outfit will kickstart their campaign against five-time champions Australia at the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai on October 8. After that, they will take on Afghanistan in Delhi on October 11 before locking horns with arch-rivals Pakistan in Ahmedabad on the 15th. 

The Men in Blue's clashes against Bangladesh, New Zealand and England will be hosted by Pune, Dharamsala and Lucknow, respectively, on October 19, 22 and 29. In their last three group-stage games, India will take on South Africa in Kolkata and two qualifying teams in Bengaluru and Mumbai.

Thus, India will play their nine group-stage matches between October 8 and November 11 across nine different venues. All matches will be broadcasted live on Star Sports Network.
