'Chin Up And..' - Yuvraj Singh Urges Virat Kohli & Co. To Feel Proud Despite WC Final Loss

Yuvraj Singh urged Team India to 'chin up' despite the doom and gloom of their heartbreaking loss in the final of the ICC World Cup 2023 on Sunday (November 19) against Australia.

The former India middle-order giant reminded Rohit Sharma & company of their remarkably successful run leading into the summit clash in Ahmedabad and insisted they must hold their heads high.

After playing an excellent brand of cricket over the past month to clinch ten consecutive victories, including a comprehensive triumph over New Zealand in the semifinal in Mumbai, India faltered at the final hurdle of an ICC event once again and were dominated by Australia in a six-wicket defeat.

What had been anticipated to be a perfect end to a month-long celebration of cricket in India turned into a setting of disbelief and despair for the players and the countrymen as they succumbed to the might of the Australians with their champion DNA and the historic ability to raise the game on big occasions.

Yuvraj's Consolation Message For Rohit Sharma's Men

Yuvraj reminisced about the 'unforgettable moments' players were able to create over ten matches before facing the Australians in an ultimate rematch in front of a 1,30,000-packed crowd at the Motera Stadium and requested the players to keep their spirits up amid the disappointment.

"The final result may not have been in our favour, but you created unforgettable moments and made us proud!" Yuvraj tweeted. "You brought the entire nation together with what you achieved as a team Chin up and onwards to the next one!"

The 2011 champion also congratulated Australia for becoming the champions of world cricket for the sixth time in One-Day internationals and for the legend Virat Kohli for finishing with the most deserving 'Player of the Tournament' trophy.
