Babar Azam Enjoys 'Sunday Golf'; Distracts His Mind After Losing Captaincy

Babar Azam is seemingly coping well with the chaos and turbulence witnessed outside since his decision to relinquish captaincy duties in the aftermath of Pakistan's disastrous ICC World Cup 2023 exit.

The outgoing Pakistan skipper may have had extensive scrutiny on his head with polarised opinions about his move but he was seen enjoying his Sunday Golf session back home in Lahore.

While the world stands in great anticipation and excitement about the high-octane India versus Australia finale in Ahmedabad on November 19, Babar decided to spend his Sunday morning rather in a calm setting playing his favourite non-cricketing sport.

Babar posted images of him indulging in golf on his official Twitter handle, emerging as an unfussed individual amid the extensive noise and furore regarding the leadership shuffle in Pakistan Cricket following their disappointing pre-semifinal ouster from World Cup contention.

Babar Azam Enjoys Sunday Golf In Pakistan

Babar gave the pair of images an amusing caption, insisting it's not a Sunday but a 'Golfday' for him personally. The cricketer laid bare his longstanding love for golf as a sport as he refreshed himself with a game following the sustained heat and pressure endured during the World Cup trip to India.

For Babar, it becomes a key phase to recharge his batteries before rejoining the national duties for Pakistan. The experienced cricketer and the modern-day batting giant confronted heaps of criticism and scrutiny with nasty remarks made against him and his decision-making throughout the tournament across the border.

It didn't help that the 29-year-old also found himself in the midst of a controversy raised by PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf and his regime after they took to the media with Babar's leaked WhatsApp messages to brush aside accusations of a brewing rift between the two parties.

Now back home, Babar would've felt relieved after giving up captaincy across formats and can approach his planning and preparation phase for the forthcoming Test tour to Australia with a singleminded determination to regain his best mojo with the bat in hand.
