It was under MS Dhoni, the former India captain that Jasprit Bumrah made his international debut for India. He first got his maiden call-up during India's tour of Australia, and since then, he hasn't looked back.

Apart from MSD, Bumrah has also honed his skills under Virat Kohli in Tests and Rohit Sharma (IPL and other formats).

In a recent media interaction, Jasprit Bumrah credited his success to the past and present captains. He stated that MSD is a very secure leader, while also stating that Virat is an energy driven person and Rohit understands players' emotions.

"When I made the debut, MS gave me lots of security, I felt secured, he believed in instincts - Virat is energy driven, passionate, he pushed us in fitness - Rohit had lots of empathy, understands players emotions, what players are going through - everyone has helped Indian cricket go forward," Bumrah told The Indian Express.

The leader of the Indian attack, Bumrah has carved a name for himself across formats. Recently, he was adjudged the Player of the Tournament in the T20 World Cup 2024. He picked up 15 wickets, at an economy of 4.17 and helped India clinched the T20 World Cup.

The 30-year-old was given a rest for the upcoming Sri Lanka tour, but he might make a return for the Test series against Bangladesh, starting in September.
